Damian Saunders

It’s not often we need to install WordPress manually in cPanel these days but, as a developer, it’s important to know how to perform this basic install.

Webfoundations’ AWS powered managed WordPress hosting enables us to easily run up a blueprinted WordPress install, with our preferred tech stack, and easy staging site creation and management, nonetheless we occasionally need to set up WordPress on a shared host running cPanel.

The following video walks you through the easy process to so a manual WordPress install.

Preparing to install WordPress manually in cPanel

In preparation for the install, and running the WordPress setup you can do the following;

  • Download the latest version of WordPress here.
  • Create a 12 – 18 character random text string (for secure database credentials) here or where ever works for you.
  • Prepare a note ready to record;
    • The database name
    • The database user
    • The database user password

As you’ll see the process is quick and simple, happy installing.
