The Brief
The Voxus Psychology website was initially positioned as a simple, largely static, site that outlined the Client’s therapy and counseling services and provided functionality to allow visitors to make a booking on an external booking system.
The Client plans to market the site themselves, one key objective is that it loads quickly and is ‘in the green’ as far as speed is concerned.
Our Approach
The client provided us with initial design concepts which we then mocked up in Figma and iterated until the original concepts looked good in all orientations. We then proceeded to build the site to match the Figma design. The Client enjoyed being able to view and collaborate on the design process.
The site design lent itself to a nice, minimalist design, clean lines and nice typography. As stipulated the site is largely static. The addition of the video background in the hero section, some interestingly positioned design elements, and a custom post type that enabled the easy addition of podcast episodes, were the only slight challenges.
The Client provided their own hosting, we integrated the Cloudflare CDN ( only required the free plan at this stage ) and we manage the site under our Basic WordPress care plan.
The Result
The site went live on March 21/2021 after meeting all the Client’s requirements.
With core web vitals becoming a key component of site performance and SEO marketing strategy it was important to achieve a good score in terms of page speed.
There’s always work to do, the challenge being achieving a good result without compromising required functionality, in this case the chat bot that enables the Client’s customers to interact with them easily. As you can see the speed scores are quite acceptable.
